Hymns, Pimms and a Sausage Please
Sunday, 30th September, 2007
Even the weather at the weekend could not dampen the spirits of a group of Whyke residents on Sunday. Celebrating the end of the 11 month vacancy at their parish church, the congregation of St Georges held a “Hymns & Pimms” event, where everyone wrote down their favourite hymn, and a number were chosen at random. Pimms in hand, they then all joined in as the selected ones were sung with great gusto. The very enjoyable sing-song ended with a rousing chorus of Jerusalem, before everyone retired to the patio area, where a wonderful barbecue awaited them, and even the weather had brightened up.

The event raised over £100 towards a fund which had been set up to pay for decoration of the rectory prior to the new incumbent and his family moving in.
