We follow Christ on the way of love in this meditative service of the Stations of the Cross, finishing with adoration before the Blessed Sacrament in the Lady Chapel
We have started a regular meditation group at St George’s with two meditation
meetings each week in the Lady Chapel. One at
5:30pm on Mondays and one at 10:15am on
Thursdays during term time. Each session will
last approx. 30-40 minutes and include a short
reflection and a period of silent meditation. The
first sessions will introduce meditation and be led
by Fr Angus. The hope is that the sessions will be
led by others in due course with resources drawn
from The World Community for Christian
Meditation (wccm.org). All are welcome to come along,
whether you are new to meditation or have
previous experience.
Thursday Lent Group: Being Stewards of Creation
Our Lent Group will focus on ecological concerns through the eyes of faith. We will read the book Saying Yes To Life (the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent Book in 2020) written by local author Ruth Valerio. We will also consider how ecology links to the Easter liturgy and have local experts guide us on how to act as faithful stewards of creation. There will be five sessions. 7:00pm on Thursdays from 22 Feb to 21 March, meeting in the Centenary Centre or the Church. The book is available at a reasonable price on Amazon. Copies to borrow are also available from Fr Angus. Sign-up sheets at the back of church. For more information about the book, you can go to https://spckpublishing.co.uk/saying-yes-resources.
All are welcome to our weekly term-time session for families with young children. This is held in the Centenary Centre between 10:30 and 12:00 and includes a time for free play and activities, a story and a song. Refreshments will also be provided with a suggested donation per family. If anyone would like to help with refreshments or with setting up, storytelling or singing, please speak to Fr Angus.
